Glitzy Vegas Christmas
All
entries in the design contest must be able to be carried by the entrant
without difficulties or assistants. Your design is to be pre-arranged
and built according to your levels specifications.
Four
Levels of Skills
Student
– This level is reserved for students of floral design
without retail experience. Your design has a price limit of $25.00 wholesale
and must have a size limit of 24” wide by 24” deep by 36”
in height. All props must be priced into the cost. A cost control sheet
must be supplied. The prize for the best of show in this category will
be $100.00.
Level
1 – This level is reserved for Floral Designers
with one year, or less, of retail experience. Your design has a price
limit of $25.00 wholesale and must have a size limit of 32” wide
by 24” deep by 24” in height. All props must be priced into
the cost. A cost control sheet must be supplied. The prize for the best
of show in this category will be $100.00.
Level
2 – This level is reserved for Floral Designers
with one to five years of retail experience. Your design has a price
limit of $35.00 wholesale and must have a size limit of 32” wide
by 32” deep by 32” in height. All props must be priced into
the cost. A cost control sheet must be supplied. The prize for the best
of show in this category will be $100.00.
Level
3 – This level is reserved for Floral Designers
with more than five years of retail experience. Your design has a price
limit of $45.00 wholesale and must have a size limit of 32” wide
by 32” deep by 32” in height. All props must be priced into
the cost. A cost control sheet must be supplied. The prize for the best
of show in this category will be $100.00. The top three designs in this
level will have the opportunity to design at the Free Fall Seminar for
“The Pasque”.
Rules:
Everyone entering the contest must be registered at the 2009 Free Fall
Seminar and be affiliated with a dues paid member of the SDFA. There
will be no entry fee to enter the contest in any level. All entries
will be anonymous. Everyone involved in the contest in any manner may
enter the contest, excluding the judges. The chairperson of the contest
may disqualify any entries not fitting specific requirements of cost
or size. There is a limit of one entry per designer. Judging all categories
will begin at 11:00 a.m. There will be no admittance during judging.
Decisions of the judges will be final. Viewing will be from 12:30 p.m.
until 4:30 p.m. when the designs will be returned to the designers.
Prizes will be awarded at 4:30 p.m. All registered attendees of the
SDFA Free Fall Seminar will have the opportunity to choose the People’s
Choice.
